Christine and James, La Fonda on the Plaza

Welcome back #BlueRoseBeauties!

We’ve got another gorgeous couple on the blog today, Christine + James! Not only is this dynamic duo painfully photogenic – above all they were beyond gracious and kind which makes our jobs substantially more lovely! This colorful destination wedding celebration is one for the books, and their location might just be the next one you add to your list. We all know that there are countless, beautiful, much sought after venues in New Mexico, but one of our personal favorites happens to be La Fonda on the Plaza in Santa Fe. The building itself is historically stunning, both inside and out and just so happens to be the location of choice for this couple’s journey into forever. We were there to capture the most intimate of moments and everything in between. On the floral front- think individual sprigs of lavender on each napkin, the most colorful wildflowers you can imagine – and a bridal comb made out of LIVE floral – huge shout out to Florecita Flowers for bringing the beautiful blooms- they were pure magic! If we had to describe the motif and overall vibe for this nuptial we would call it whimsically vibrant and a profound celebration of love with the most upscale Southwestern twist. Talavera tile table numbers, mini maracas and a full out La Marcha parade through Santa Fe’s plaza had us feeling right at home and might we add, proud to be New Mexican!  As always we feel so lucky to have witnessed such a lovely moment in time and to Mr. + Mrs. Gilland, we hope that if you are reading this- you feel our love and hopes for a lifetime of joy, coming your way!

Settle in and stay awhile- we’ve got so much to show you!

Amelia and Jason, Family Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico

It’s officially #WeddingWednesday and there are many reasons to celebrate especially when it comes to our next couple, the lovely Amelia and Jason! We are still overflowing with inspiration and excitement reliving these amazingly gorgeous and vibrant photos. This fete was steeped in tradition and was the literal definition of #NewMexicoTrue. It only makes sense that they would walk into their forever at a private family ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico amongst details that highlight natural, unabashed beauty. Amelia and Jason introduced us to one of our all time favorite wedding themes, a mix between organic details and bold moments of traditional glamour! From the heirloom tablecloths to her iconic southwestern boho lace gown and cowgirl boots each detail felt deeply meaningful and intentional. And speaking of meaningful history, we love to learn how our couples met because it’s like being privy to modern day and real-life love story. Lucky for us we have all the details below! Trust us, you are going to want to take a quick peak. We know that this couple and their beautiful celebration will leave a lasting impression on your hearts and will have you convinced that they were destined from the start. The feeling is totally mutual.

How they met..at church? Or because of a dog? You decide!

Amelia’s memory: My good friend, Kiersten Wyatt, had recently had a dog join her apartment family. Thus she started meeting her neighbors, who were drawn to the adorable pup. She found a group of fun boys living in the apartment upstairs. They became fast friends and members of the pup fan club. Through this friendship, Jason and I met and started going on different adventures with this group! Everything from chocolate factory exploration, to hikes, to hunts through Nashville’s farmer’s market!

Jason’s memory: Amelia and I met at a church we had both been attending for a while. Our mutual friend (my neighbor) introduced us. Amelia and I talked for a while and it was like talking to someone I had known for a lifetime! We soon found ourselves together again at Easter service, with a really enthusiastic family in an overflow room.

The proposal: Jason planned an extremely thoughtful, intimate surprise proposal for Amelia. Only Amelia’s sisters were present for the actual ask in the Texas Hill Country, but the second surprise was a celebration that evening with both of their parents and families present, along with a few friends. Of course Kiersten was there, the friend who started it all!
